OVAC Internship

Are you interested in learning more about artists in Oklahoma? Resources for artists? Exhibitions? Non-profit administration?

By working alongside OVAC staff, interns are exposed to the daily management of an artist service organization and gain access to the people, events, and resources of the state's arts community and OVAC. Interns assist in OVAC's daily operation, carrying out administrative, technical, and research duties, as well as special projects.

Curriculum

In addition to hands-on experience, the internship includes a structured curriculum that requires light reading and thoughtful responses in a workbook each week. This study will include focused work in the areas of arts administration, exhibition/event coordination, writing and research, website and database management, fundraising and development, and marketing and public relations. Specific areas of interest may be expressed at the time of application.

Schedule

OVAC offers internships every Fall, Spring, and Summer semester.

The schedule is flexible with a minimum of 12 hours worked per week – at least 10 hours required in the office (remaining hours can be remote). PLUS, occasional events on weekday evenings and/or weekends.

Apply

Summer Internship applications will open in May 2023. Applicants must either be current students or recent graduates (no more than six months past graduation). Both graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to apply.
