Myriah Downs

Myriah S. Downs is a returning member of the Momentum committee excited to serve this year as co-chair! She is an attorney, contemporary painter, and graphic designer based in Oklahoma. Her vibrant paintings are an exploration of femininity using bold colors, contrasting textures, & oversized scale. Her work is an intimate examination of race, gender, and fragility through her perspective as a Black woman. Myriah is passionate about representation and accessibility in the arts. Her work seeks to encourage acceptance by inspiring viewers to introspectively assess their own experiences because only when we fully accept ourselves, we can truly accept one another.
